The Best Beginner Upland Vest Made in America - A Nod to Tradition
The Final Rise Heritage is the perfect beginner upland vest for first-time bird hunters, youth hunters, and anyone looking for an affordable, American-made lightweight vest that doesn't cut corners where it counts. Blending the timeless, nostalgic look of a classic strap vest with the same premium fabrics and components found in every Final Rise product, this vest checks every essential box without the premium price tag.
We didn't just build a simple vest and call it done. We solved the problems that plague comparable designs at this price point. The Heritage features a wide adjustment range that fits everyone from youth hunters to larger builds, so sizing, fit, and function are never compromised. Critical adjustment hardware is repositioned away from the shotgun mount zone, protecting your stock and wood components from unnecessary wear. A sternum strap keeps the shoulder harness in place all day — a small detail that makes a big difference on a first time upland bird hunting vest.
Whether you're a seasoned hunter looking for an affordable backup vest, a parent buying a bird hunting vest that will grow with your child for years to come, or a newcomer picking up your very first beginner upland vest, the Heritage was built with you in mind.
Key Design Features:
- One-size-fits-all sizing from 26" to 50" — the widest fit range of any American-made beginner upland vest on the market, with ample torso length adjustment for youth and adult hunters alike
- 2 low-profile velcro-closing shell pouches — fast, secure access for reloads whether you're hunting pheasant, quail, grouse, or any other upland bird
- 2 water bottle sleeves — side-mounted on the game bag for easy hydration access in the field (bottles not included)
- Modular sternum strap and transmitter attachment points — keeps the harness in place and your e-collar transmitter right where you need it; a standout feature on any first time upland bird hunting vest
- Light framing for easy bird loading — structured enough to load birds cleanly, streamlined enough to stay out of your way
- Under 2 lbs — one of the lightest American-made lightweight vests available at any price point
The Final Rise Heritage is the best budget upland vest for hunters who want American-made quality, a reliable fit across a huge size range, and a classic strap vest design that will hold up for seasons to come. The perfect beginner upland vest — and the last entry-level vest you'll ever need to buy.
There's no one size fits all approach when it comes to comfort and function. Lucky for you, we've loaded the FINAL RISE System with some simple yet innovative features that allow you to ensure a custom tailored fit. All you need to do is simply select your waist size during checkout and apply the steps outlined in this video to dial in how your vest feels so you can set it, forget and go hunt.
NOTE - We have already factored in layering. Do not size up if your measurements fall within the specified numbers below.

Measuring Midsection For Belt Size:
Using a soft measuring tape, loop the tape behind your lower back, just above your bum, and wrap around to the front, just below the navel. Pair the size/measurement obtained with our sizing for optimal fit. This will ensure the belt sits below the waist on the hips, which will carry the most comfortably.
If you are up the upper end of a belt size, and you'd prefer to have the shell pockets sitting more forward, we recommend sizing up to the next belt size.
Measuring Torso Harness Size:
Using a soft measuring tape, measure from the bony bump on the back of your neck (C7 Vertebrae) to the top of your bum crack. Pair this measurement with the Torso size range on the product pages.
If you are a gentleman or woman with a larger chest area, please opt for the regular harness. This provides the additional length needed as the straps come over the chest area
If you are right at 20", we recommend the regular harness as this will allow the sternum strap to sit low and ensure an open shoulder pocket for a clean gun mount.
Worried? Leave a Note:
If for any reason you’re worried about your measurements being wrong, please note your height and weight in the order notes at checkout.
From here, we will ensure we send you what we feel will fit the very best and provide the most comfortable and function out of your vest. If we get it wrong, we’ll always make it right.
